Manipur quake: experts say water vapour not smoke

Geological experts Saturday calmed down the villagers in and around the earthquake epicenter in Manipur’s Tamenglong district saying that it was not smoke that emit at the cracks appeared on the ground after the January 4 high intensity earthquake in the area. People of the villages in and around the epicenter were leading a life of anxiety after they smoke and mud at the earth crack that were formed in the aftermath of the earthquake.
A team of experts from geological department of Delhi University who accompanied a visit of the Manipur deputy chief minister Gakhangam Saturday after examining the crack sides confirmed that it was not smoke but water vapour that emits from the crack and it will lasted only for some days.
