Manipur provides medical facilities to local health authorities

In a bid to enhance the medical facilities in Manipur, state health authorities recently distributed ambulances and first aid kits among various local health institutions.
Manipur's Health and Family Welfare Minister, L Jayanta who inaugurated the event gave away ambulances and medical kits funded by National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
While speaking to mediapersons, the state Health Mission Director, Devesh Deval said that the main aim of the move was to ensure that the medical assistance is made easily available to the people residing in rural areas.
The Indian government had launched the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) with an objective to bring about improvement in the basic health care delivery systems of the country particularly in rural areas and recognised the significance of health in economic and social development. (ANI)
