Times of India |TNN | Jan 1, 2012, 03.08AM IST
The opposition alliance of five political parties, formed to fight the Congress in the coming state assembly election slated for January 28 next, is all prepared to formulate a common agenda for the polls.
"We will convene a meeting of the alliance partners on Sunday to chalk out our poll strategies and seat sharing equations in certain constituencies to defeat the ruling Congress," said MPP president Nimaichand Luwang. At a joint media conference of the BJP and the Manipur People's Party (MPP) at the BJP state unit office here on Saturday, Luwang a former minister, said the common target of all the five parties in the alliance was to defeat the Congress.
Responding to another query, Luwang said the alliance had no link with the Naga People's Front (NPF).
