Manipur govt sends fresh proposal for tripartite talk
Nagaland Post | Imphal, Jan 7
Manipur government is understood to have written a letter to the Centre for initiating a tripartite talk with the agitating United Naga Council (UNC). The UNC has been imposing indefinite economic blockade of the national highways in the state since November 1, triggering artificial scarcity of essential commodities, particularly petroleum products which Manipur solely depend from outside the state.
A highly reliable source said that state chief secretary O Nabakishore Singh has written a letter to the secretary of the Union ministry of home affairs for initiating a talk between Centre, state and UNC at the earliest.
