Nagaland Post | Imphal, Dec 8 (NPN)
The Joint Administrative Council (JAC), an apex body of the employees of Manipur government, campaigning for adoption of pay bands recommended of the Sixth Pay Commission report, has threatened to abstain from voting in favour of the Congress and CPI, the ruling partner of Secular Progressive Front (SPF) government, if their demands were not fulfilled before the enforcement of Election Code of Conduct (ECC).
ECC for the elections to the Manipur Legislative Assembly, expected to be conducted by February next year, is likely to be issued in the last week of December.
“We have decided to take a resolution on not voting for the Congress and CPI if necessary orders regarding the in toto implementation of the pay bands recommended by the Central Sixth Pay Commission is not issued ahead of the enforcement of ECC,” said Publicity and information secretary L. Priyobarta in a statement issued Thursday.
