Manipur doc couple cries 'cover-up' over son’s death

His last class test fetched him 20 out of 25 marks. That answer script carries a sketch of Parthenon, the great Greek monument at Athens rebuilt after the invading Persians had burnt it down. But ten days after his ‘unnatural death’, Richard Loitam’s parents have no Parthenon to build as all is lost for the Manipuri doctor couple. Their brightest child is dead and gone, beaten to a pulp by murderous hostel-mates and then left to die in a hostel room.
“And now the institute (NRV Institute of Architecture, Bangalore) is trying a cover-up to protect his hostel mates who beat him to a pulp and left him to die. Perhaps they are trying to protect the reputation of the institute,” says dental surgeon Dr L Rajesh, just after finishing the last rites of Richard.
