Manipur HC to hear Ratan's petition
The Telegraph | Khelen Thokchom | Imphal, July 2
Manipur High Court Chief Justice Rakesh Ranjan Prasad will hear a petition filed by former convener of Joint Committee on Inner-Line Permit System, Khomdram Ratan, who faces a criminal case and a "wanted" tag, on Monday. Ratan filed the petition in the high court on June 27, challenging the registration of the criminal case against him and also the "wanted" tag.
Justice N. Kotishwar Singh referred the petition to the Chief Justice on June 29, maintaining that his court felt it appropriate that the matter should be placed before Prasad before proceeding further.
In his petition, Ratan claimed that the police did not visit his house till today to arrest him nor issued any summons to him. Ratan claimed he is not an absconder.
