Dear Women of the Womens’ Market,
I was extremely sorry to hear through Dr. Bishwajeet Elangbam and our BBC radio of the damage done to Ima Keithel, your famous and historic market by the recent very large earthquake .
It was heartrending to see photos of the destruction and rubble, and my heart goes out to you.
We were at the market only two years ago, so I know how difficult it will be for all of you who work so hard there and whose livlihood it is to have had this happen. I hope and pray that you yourselves are safe and not injured, and that your famous strong spirit will carry you through the difficult time ahead.
Those with whom I am in touch will, I know, inform me of any way I can help.
Yours sincerely,
Belinda Morse
