Come May 24 and the city will witness yet another birthday tribute to the legendary Bob Dylan where local musician Lou Majaw and bands from all the other northeastern states will perform 10 hours of “beautiful music”.
The tribute since it was first offered in 1972 has become a ritual where Majaw has been performing Dylan’s original compositions.
Alive from Sikkim, D’Luzion (Assam), Cleave (Manipur), Evenflo (Mizoram), Incipit (Nagaland), Swraijak (Tripura), Symmetry Clan (Arunachal Pradesh) and Midnight Garden Factor (Shillong), and of course, Majaw and his friends will be performing from 2pm to 12am on the premises of the Laban Sports Club and Centre Point’s Cloud 9.
Asked about his all-time favourite from Dylan’s works, Majaw said, “If I have to choose, then it would definitely be The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest.”
The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest is a song from Dylan’s album John Wesley Harding in 1967.
