MSAD Election 2007-2008 Press Release |

It is brought to the notice of all Manipuri students in Delhi that the Election to the MSAD Executive for the term 2007- 2008 is scheduled on 28th January 2007. Any student interested in contesting the election for any of the offices for the coming term 2007-2008 can collect nomination forms with a payment of Rs.500 of which Rs. 300 is refundable in case the candidate loses in the election. An amount of Rs. 20 should be separately paid as the cost of the nomination forms. The last date of nomination is on 22nd January 2007. Scrutiny will be held on 25th, January 2007 at CC Park, Jamia at 1 pm. It is also further informed to all the interested students that while registering their nomination files every candidate should fulfill the given criteria for the office for which he or she is going to contest in the election. However, the Election committee in its sole discretion will finally decide any dispute regarding the qualification for any office. It is also brought to the notice of the students that the Election Committee has renamed the two posts of the office of Joint Secretary as Organization Secretary and Academic & Magazine Secretary according to a resolution taken in a meeting of the MSAD executives and volunteers including senior advisors held on 10th January 2007 at DU garden. It was also decided in the meeting that the existing two posts of Joint Secretary are dissolved and are replaced by the newly created offices mentioned above. Those who are going to contest for the office of President should be enrolled in a postgraduate programme in any recognized university in Delhi at the time of submission of nomination forms. However, the other offices are open to those who are at least enrolled in a graduation course in any recognized institution in Delhi at the time of submission of nomination forms. Interested candidates are advised to refer to the separate annexure of the rules and regulations issued with the nomination forms. There will be four polling stations at four different places in Delhi. The places are
1) Pukhrambam Rakesh, 9/17, Vijay Nagar Double Storey, Ground Floor, near Kirpal Ashram, New Delhi-9, 2) Usham Rogio, 167/A, Sarai Julena, Jamia Nagar, New Delhi- 25, 3) Atom Sunil Singh, 246-E, Brahmaputra Hostel, JNU, 4) Ch. Momo, Hostel No.7, Room E, Institute of Public Health and Hygiene, Mahipalpur, Polling starts at 10.00am and closes at 7.00pm. Oath taking for the newly elected executive will take place on 31st January 2007. It is also notified that a student can cast vote not more than once at any of the provided polling stations. Place, dates and time given here may be changed or cancelled according to the decision of the Election Committee. Sd/- N.
