MODIfied Northest India thanked Modi for focussing NE in Budget 2014
New Delhi/ 10th July:
MODIfied Northeast India, an initiative to support Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India has expressed warm regards and thanked the NDA government for giving bountiful of Projects and schemes, specially for the North East Region.
Hailing Union Budget 2014 as Budget for development, Unity and Integration of the Country, Naorem Mohen, founder of MODIfied Northeast India expressed that people of the region have found a Prime Minister and a governemnt which consider NE region the heart of the Country.
There will be a University of Sports in Manipur and Rs 100 crores have been proposed for this one of its kind in the Country. Sportsperson from Manipur who are representing the country in para olympics will be getting more attention as the government has proposed Centre for Disability Sports.
TV is a very powerful tool for the expression of cultural identities and for creating greater awareness of the richness of the diversity of our country. To provide a strong platform to rich cultural and linguistic identity of the Northeast, a new 24x7 channel called "Arun Prabha" will be launached.
Northeast India has tremendous potential for development of organic farming. A sum of Rs 100 crore for organic farming was proposed to facilitate people living in the region so that we can reap harvest from development of commercial organic farming. There will be Agricultural Research Institute in Assam for the development of agriculture research and training of NE people.
To remove the concept of isolation due to lack of proper connectivity and expediting the development of rail connectivity, Rs 1000 crore over and above the amount provided in the interim budget was also proposed.
The current government is committed to the welfare of scheduled castes and tribes. Rs 200 crores credit scheme for start-ups by those from scheduled castes and tribes.
There will be AIIMS in all states soon as the government has planned to set up.
Investment in NHAI and state highways to the tune of Rs 37,887 crore,including Rs 3000 crore for North East region will surely solved the decade long miseries of Imphal-Jiribam National Highway.
From the current budget, Modi government has introduced a Statement which will separately show Plan allocation budget made for Northeast region. In the Financial year, 2014-15, allocation of Rs 53,706 crore has beenmade for the region. Further, an allocation was made of Rs 98,030 crore for women and Rs 81,075 crore for Child welfare.
There will be a Meet to interact with Union Ministers in Delhi where policy makers and stakeholders of education, health and IT from Northeast region will discuss on how to execute the proposed schemes and Projects of the government, in the interest of the region.
