MMAB and BMSA condemn negligence of authorities on untimely demised of Richard Loitam

The Manipuri Meitei Association, Bangalore (MMAB) and Bangalore Manipuri Students’ Association (BMSA) jointly expressed deep sorrow on the un-timely demised of Mr. Richard Loitam, son of Dr. Rajesh Loitam of Uripok Yambem Leikai, Imphal, Manipur, who was a student of 1st year B Architect at Acharya NRV college of Architecture, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Road, Bangalore. The two associations also bear the same heart burnt as the family of deceased Mr. Richard Loitam.
The two associations strongly condemn the negligence from the authorities of the Hostel and the institute. The incident of quarrel happened inside the hostel and the student breathed last at the hostel bed itself. If the hostel and institute authorities did timely intervene the quarrel incident and provided immediate medical attention, the injured student could had been saved.
The two associations seek to the police and investigating agencies to render fair justice and book the culprit at the earliest.
The two associations also appeal to the government of Karnataka to give justice to the student who came to study in the state with full faith not to be murdered mercilessly. Minority people, especially from north-east, who are staying in Karnataka, need special attention from the government of Karnataka.
The two associations also expressed its faith on the government of Manipur that it will press for justice and do the needful for the state folks who are studying or staying outside of the state.
The two associations are keeping in touch with the family and will continue to fight to get justice. The two associations appeal to all Manipuris (specially staying in Karnataka) to cooperate and support the series of activities in trying to get Justice for the deceased fellow Manipuri.
