Warm welcoming news for every Manipuri! Manipur Civil Service Examination (MCS) is coming to the much-needed time. This is a great message for the IAS students studying outside; who all are earning coveted IAS touree (doing IAS) title.
More importantly, this is a bumper draw for the concerned state department who had already finished around Rs. 650 crore economic packages. There is also parallel government, the guardian of our utopian promised land - revolutionaries who claims every reservation for themselves.
Although skeptical from the beginning, I've restrained my stark opinion of the possibility of a high profile corruption in this examination. Reason being we've long believed that this land has been scoured with bribes and frauds.
Yet I kept numb to express my inner fear. For the sake of those who depends on hard work, for those who surrenders on luck and for those innocent students who love to fight the current wind of corruptions with honest and sincere means.
Corruption is robbing Manipur of critically needed resources, curbing economic growth and homicide of hard working students since last decades. Bribery even in the selection of state representatives or administrators will always lead to a failed state. So Beware!
Corruptions and Manipulation were the success stories of previous examinations. With enough evidence of so-called future administrators connected with manipulating the prestigious examinations, can we ever think of free and fair examinations?
There are strong reasons for predicting this forthcoming examination as pot of corruption. Literary speaking, the MCS examination should be termed as "Mass Corruption Service" examination reviewing the active involvement of aplenty bribery and corruptions.
When job opening has been in drought for last few years, people will surely try to seize this job opening. Be it in sincere or corrupt way, who cares!
Manipuri are richer than before amidst financial crunches of the state. Despite problems in salary pay out and months long economic blockades, inhabitants never spells a word of 'discontent' to the Indian government. Every person's assets are worth in terms of lakhs and all amenities of modern lifestyle are available in this failed state.
Thus, Central government does not look the state as economically backward among the entire North Eastern region. End reason is that whenever any economic package comes, Manipur is sidelined. Be it in announcing the development of rural tourism, education policy or the industry set up.
Another long spell of 'No Vacancy' is seriously a matter of concerned for job seekers. Some might spends their fortune for getting the job; others might approach their relatives or friends to get a chance. After all, who will not want to become a class one officer in the home state with power and authority?
One thing that hurts me more deeply is that many of my friends are banking their whole investments in this examination. They are well aware about the situations in the state. They can't control their passion to serve the land being an administrator one day! And I wish dream dreams to be fulfilled through this sudden job opening.
Now, as examination is closer and bribery seems clear. Well the topic becomes everyone's cup of tea. Some says shall we try without bribe, when some made up their minds to get through by any means!
Spending money to bribe for the coveted job is no sin in the land of crime and corruptions! MCSE will be another blunders, called it political due to the active involvement of ministers and concerned officials.
Especially in the wake of high intrusions from the extremists in every job, development and running of the state machinery, people can't expect any clean examinations. With power of guns and vindictive policy, they will surely mess up the forthcoming examination.
I do not impugn those few good officials and the people who still believe in clean and fair examinations. But I do fear for them being stained by other who wants to blemish the game.
They should not find themselves caught between their loyalty immediate boss and their entirely legitimate concerns about close kith and kin. Let them select the right candidates on eligibility and qualifications.
Let my superfluous opinion go wrong this time and let there be a clean examination for the people of Manipur!
