Established in 1936, Tata Institute of Social Sciences is a Government of India funded Deemed University that contributes to the creation of ecologically sustainable, equitable and just society. TISS through its 9 schools and 3 independent centres at the Mumbai Campus, along with vibrant campuses in Tulapur (Rural Maharashtra), Guwahati and Hyderabad offers 45 highly competitive, socially relevant M.A. / M.Sc. / M.P.H./ M.H.A. Programmes in inter and trans-disciplinary areas of social work, health, management, development, habitat and climate sciences. The Institute has over 160 full-time highly accomplished faculty members involved in teaching, research, policy influencing and institution building activities. Currently, the Mumbai campus has over 1600 Masters and 380 Doctoral students. In 2009, TISS was re-accredited by NAAC and was awarded Grade "A" with a score of 3.88 out of 4.

Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses have independent high quality faculty engaged in teaching, research, policy and outreach activities; and are networked with Mumbai campus to access library, online books and journals and classes. All campuses have unified campus placement programme.

TISS ANNOUNCES Admission to the 2014-16 batch for it's Full-Time (Regular) Post-Graduate Degree Programmes (M.A., M. Sc., M.H.A., M.P.H.) offered from Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses.

Reservation:
As per Government of India norms, Mumbai, Tuljapur and Hyderabad Campuses provide 15%, 7.5% and 27% reservation to Scheduled Caste, Schedule Tribe and Other Backward Classes (non-creamy layer) for each of the programmes. In addition, supernumerary seats are allocated to Persons With Disabilities (PWD) {3%} , Kashmiri migrants {1%} and children of the Armed Forces Employees {5%}
As per agreement with Ministry of Development of North-East Region, Government of India, Guwahati Campus allots 66% of the seats to candidates from eight North Eastern States. The remaining 34% of the seats are for candidates from other parts of the country. For these seats (34%) same rules for reservation mentioned above for SC/ST and OBC categories are applicable . In addition, supernumerary seats are allocated to Persons With Disabilities (PWD) {3%} , Kashmiri migrants {1%} and children of the Armed Forces Employees {5%}

Campus Preference:
TISS offers 45 Master's Degree programmes from its Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses for the 2014-2016 batch. Candidates can apply for a maximum of three programmes across any of the two campuses indicating the order of preference. The merit list will be prepared based on the preferences given by the candidate in the application form.

National Entrance Test will take place at 35 centres in different cities/towns across the country. Pre Interview Test (PIT) and Personal Interview (PI) for programmes offered at Mumbai, Tuljapur, MHAT, CUTN, and BANYAN will be conducted at the Mumbai Campus . For programmes offered at Hyderabad and Guwahati, the PIT/PI will be conducted at the respective campuses. Candidates applying for programmes at more than one campus, will have to travel to these places for PIT/PI. Except for the eligible candidates from the SC/ST/OBC(NC) categories all others will bear the cost of travel, lodging and boarding for attending the NET, as well as PIT/PI. In case the candidate is selected for more than one programme after National Entrance Test, Pre-Interview Test and Personal Interview, admission will be offered to the programme higher in the order of preference. Application Submission:
Candidates have to apply through the online application form only. Following are the steps involved in filling up the form
1. The candidate has to register with an emailid. The candidate will be sent a password which is to be used to login and fill the online form.
2. After login candidates have to fill in their basic details, academic details and have to mention the programmes they wish to apply for in the order of preference.
3. Pay the application fee (depending on number of programmes applied) either by depositing cash in any branch of SBI or through Credit card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking and
4. Scan and upload photograph, signature, marksheet of last exam passed and other necessary certificates.

Candidates having lack of access to internet services (remote area) can write to Mumbai campus for printed application form. They have to the application form and submit before last date of submission.

Candidate can apply for multiple programmes and pay for all the programmes in one online form and should not fill more than one online form. If a candidate is found to have filled more than one form, all his applications will be cancelled.
