Love in Chinatown
- Deep from the Soul -
K. Radhakumar *
Spiritual love!
Oh no, it's not spiritual love!
Sexual love!
Oh no, it's not sexual love!
Pure love!
Oh yes, it's pure love.
You are not in the night skies of autumn;
I also know
You are not in the waters around the Indian Ocean.
The emptiness of my heart
Does not, oh, contain you.
In the morning
Pure in body and mind
I could feel a thing
In a spaceless and timeless frame.
On the lap of its mother
A baby sleeps and smiles
A small smile in its sleep.
Oh, I learnt the song of love
And saw the face of love
At my mother's knee.
