Lonely In A Crowd
Lunminthang Haokip *
1. Bred in spheres rude, life put me off mood,
I was good from far but far from good;
But the Lord was good, He sought me out;
Cut I was by truth, and freed from doubt,
Saved tho' by grace my inborn instincts prick,
Lamed by world's pace, my ways times trick.
Lonely I feel in a crowd of men,
Lord, I miss the peace of favour'd choice;
Lowly I feel hearing words that bend,
I long for bliss in grace of your voice;
Loudly I cry with my will shaken,
O Lord, give me a heart fully broken.
2. Once wild, I was an unwelcome pest,
God touched and made me a welcome guest;
A sinner was turned a believer,
Who is hoped highly to deliver;
But weird's the pull of life's twists and turns,
Inching back in fox-trot, my heart burns.
3. Lord, it's for me to mourn that you tarry,
Proud and wounded, I cry your mercy;
Sold on your will, that I do's my will,
Coz your will's shunned, my heart woe fills;
Lord, change my nature in full measure
That my life, to thee, be a pleasure.
