Lines Written Without Blood, Sweat and Tears
K. Radhakumar *
Here lived a father
Who loved his children,
Here lived a husband
Who loved his wife,
Here lived a son
Who loved his parents,
Here bloomed a lotus
Who smiled at the sun,
Here lived a poet
Who asked serious questions about life and death
And who tried to answer in all humility,
Here lived a man
Who was deeply pleased with
The endlessness of life
And the endlessness of time.
Autumn has set in
And I feel
Nothing can destroy love;
No wall can be constructed
Between a man and another.
These are not mere autumn words
Mere autumn thoughts;
I listen to the sound of cooing of wild pigeons
And connect the two worlds.
