Lament from the womb
Dr. Bhagya Chandra Rajkumar *
Ma! I'm scared of your terrible world.
The cowering and The shock you receive
At the shot of the gun,
At the sound of deafening blast,
At the splash of blood and
At the wailing of wounded,
Afflict me woefully and sceptically.
Ma! I like to see your smile
When you vehemently gaze at me.
I like to feel your tender kiss
When you touch me lovingly.
I like to cuddle in your bosom
When your arms embrace me.
I like to nestle on your lap peacefully
When you lull me to cradle.
Ma! Shall I be safe in your world?
The beautiful world,
As you cite in lullaby,
As you intone in prayer and
As you glorify of His creation,
Yet I fear to face and chasten,
Inconsolably disconcert and dreary,
At the inhumanity and senseless killings.
Ma! I'm safe and secure in my little world
Within you! Consoled and contented placidly,
Nourishing and protecting,
And lie snugly in tiny sec.
Can I stay longer?
But nature will not allow!
It is life's odyssey.
