Lajong sign Uilliams, Minchol & Penn Orji
Shillong, 15th January, 2015:
Shillong Lajong Football Club is delighted to announce the re-signing of Brazilian Uilliams Souza & Former Captain Minchol Son.
Lajong has also secured the services of Nigerian Penn Orji. Penn has been hugely successful in his playing career in India, last playing for ISL finalist Kerala Blasters.
Orji has been playing in India for the past 5 years with Kolkata giants East Bengal & Mohammedan Sporting having previously played for JCT. He has joined the Reds this season boosting the attacking threat of the team.
Uilliams and Minchol wore the red of Lajong in the I-league last season with the former scoring 7 goals for the Club and Minchol at the heart of the defence helping the team secure a 6th place in the I-League. Both players are very familiar with the Club and cannot wait to play in front of Lajong Fans again this season.
The Club will also retain the services of Cornell Glen, who scored 14 goals last season in the I League.
Mr. Larsing M. Sawyan said ‘I am very excited about the prospects of the Uilliams, Minchol, Penn & Glen joining a strong Lajong contingent to help the team do better than last season. We hope they live up to the expectations of the Club & Fans and wish them all the very best this year.’
Shillong Lajong FC will play its first match of the new I-League season at home against local rivals, Royal Wahingdoh FC on the 18th of January 2015 at 4:30pm.
