Not because of the profession or by birth, one becomes a poet. Much joy and intolerance neither made one a poet. A poet is one that lies within oneself and also an inherent of one's hidden talent.
Award winner of Sahitya Akademi Award 2015 Kshetri Rajen is by profession a policeman. He is presently posted as a Havildar in First battalion Manipur Rifles. A policeman is one of the busiest and a responsible profession.
For Kshetri Rajen his posting is at Imphal, while his home is at Thoubal Leishangthem Awang Leikai. He has been associated with literary works for the past one year besides his hectic professional schedule.
Kshetri Rajen was born to (late) Kshetrimayum Kesho in 1968. He is the eldest among four siblings. He studied at Leishangthem Primary School in his childhood and later completed his graduation from Thoubal College.
Being born in a poor family, Kshetri Rajen joined the armed force Manipur Rifles when he was very young. This was beyond his wish. The hardships faced by Kshetri Rajen in his struggle for livelihood is reflected in his writings today.
The problems and advantages of our society, the day to day happenings in one's life are also reflected in his poems. He love the innocent lives, to save the society from the clutch of immorality. He is poet who doesn't want to hear the crime related news and also wish that no such incident occur.

Published books of Kshetri Rajen include
o 'Nonglik' (poem-2005);
o Murtishinggi Mami (poem-2005);
o Ahingna Yeksillapa Mang (poem-2009) and
o Charugi Khangpoksang (poem-2012).
The poetry book Nonglik and Murtisinggi Mami have been translated to English as Raindrops (2007, Lakhi Publications Delhi) and The Shadows of Status (2008, Global Publications Vishakhapatnam) respectively. Both the books were translated by Dr. Irom Robindro Singh.
