Today (23rd April 2015) at about 8.30 A.M the famous Khongjom War has been recalled at Hojai.
The programme was convened by the All Assam Manipuri Students’ Union (AAMSU), Nagaon District Committee, Hojai.

Many social organizations and civil society groups as well as students of various schools and colleges also participated the programme.
The people gathered there paid tribute to the Heros of Anglo Manipur war 1891 by offering flowers to the statue of Paona Brajabashi and Bir Tikendrajit situated at Geeta Mandir and Natun Bazar, Hojai respectively.

Subsequently, the Open Session at AAMSU, NDC office was presided over by Ngasepam Sanahal, President of AAMSU, NDC where resource persons also delivered lectures in connection with the Khongjom War of 1891 and the martyrdoms of several Meetei Heros who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the motherland.
