Joykisan front runner for post
The Telegraph | Imphal, April 17:
The search for a new president of the Manipur BJP appears to have narrowed down to party MLA Kh. Joykisan Singh, with central leaders dropping hints about the likely replacement of current chief Thounaojam Chaoba Singh. There has been a move for several months by a section of senior party leaders here for a change of the state president ahead of the Assembly elections, due early next year.
Party sources said after the BJP's national general secretary, Ram Madhav, in-charge of the Northeast, took the views of senior state leaders on the plan to change the state president, Joykisan's name is doing the rounds as the likely replacement.
