Apart from the very different tune of our Hindustani classical, Rock and roll, Rap/Reggae, hip-hop style based on western beat has gain momentum among the youths thereby making such genre a new music in our society. This genre is popular among our present day youths. Time changes along with the tunes too. Various hip-hop artists are also on the rise in the block. Among the hip-hop singer of the state that gains an enormous applause is none other than Jack RK.

Born to RK Eaco and Ibeyaima Devi, Jack was brought up at Thangmeiband Hijam Leikai. RK Jack was born twin with a sister RK Jill. In his childhood age Jack has interest in paintings. He has a talent in paintings and drawing. With his inherent artistic talents and knowledge of painting both his father and mother encouraged him to go further with his talents. But his idea of becoming a singer was never encouraged by his parents. The wish of different people is different. But no one can stop the wish a person has. This actually happens with RK Jack. Though he has an inherent quality in painting, Music was what Jack wants. He really wanted to become a singer.

After his completion of class X from Sainik School Imphal and he went to HRD Academy to pursue his further studies. During which he learns the hip-hop music without informing his parents. But the turning point was when he stayed at Vadodra for EEE coaching classes after completion of class XII from Manipur.

During his stay in Vadodara, an original sound track recording was successfully done for a TV serial Case and Crime being broadcast in Gujarat. This was his first ever debut for his vision of becoming a hip-hop singer. It was also an inspiration. From that very day, he decided to step in hip-hop music without any hesitation. During his coaching days in Vadodara he could learn whatever he could about hip-hop style. But, his journey, his decision was not known by his parents.

Having a good record in academic career, Jack's parents wants him to be well educated and get a white collar job. So, Jack was sent to Punjab to pursue his studies in Interior Design at Lovely Professional University. He too kept in touch with hip-hop music during his stay in Punjab. He was a well known hip-hop singer among his colleague and could also popularize hip-hop music among them. Every function of Lovely Professional University was made significant with his hip-hop music. He even composed many songs too. His first step towards his style of music was concreted at Lovely Professional University.

Jack's first Manipuri audio 'Heine Heine' was captured on mobile phone and uploaded on YouTube with the music video track. The track got a very big hit among the youngsters including girls. After completion of the Interior design course from Lovely Professional University, Jack turns towards Manipuri style hip-hop. So far, Jack has sung and performed in more than 50 audio tracks and 10 video tracks.

Among which 'He Leishabi' and 'Inaktagi taamna' got very good response from the crowd. The most popular audio video track 'He Leishabi' got more than 60 thousand viewers on youTube. Till now, many viewers still watch on-line. His popularity started through the internet and could say that he is an internet hip-hop singer.

Jack's style of singing can be heard or seen on Manipuri digital films too. Films like 'Delhi Mellei' and 'Beragi Bomb' are worth mentioning. The theme songs of the upcoming films like 'Maikhum' and 'Yotpi' will have Jack's number. He has also performed live at Manipur Sangai Festival, Pena Fusion-Turn up the beat, Fashion Show and NE Fashion Music Extravaganza.

Talking about his favourite hip-hop music Jack said, the songs in his hip-hop style was newly composed by himself in a manner that suits with our present situation and present society. This kind of genre came across in Manipur in the year 2010-2011. This style became somewhat common among the youths in those days. But, as of now hip-hop style has become very popular.

Music videos, films songs without hip-hop style has less attraction. This shows that hip-hop style has now become popular. Hip-hop means rhyme and rhythm. But, some assumed that hip-hop style of music is for who creates nuisance among the society. Some even say that it is being copied from some people. It's totally baseless. Even as hip-hop style came from the western countries, it is being tune-in in a way that suits to our society. The lyrics and rhythm has a taste of our people, because the real style of hip-hop doesn't suits with our language.

"Our hip-hop style differs from that of western hip-hop style. In order to make a hip-hop music in our language and style, we need to possess a sound knowledge of our literature and language. Bringing out Manipuri hip-hop style in western rhythm is a hard task. Manipuri hip-hop has a different rhythm. As time changes living style also changes thereby style of music change. Even as people make mockery of me being a YouTube artist but as the days go by, people have recognized him as one of the leading singer of the state. This somehow helps in promoting the hip-hop style of music in Manipur". This is what he longs for.
