JAC issues 3-day ultimatum on Manipur govt.
Nagaland Post | Imphal, July 18
Alleging that government has not initiated any action against the police personnel involved in the killing of a Class-XI student, Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed in connection with the death of the student set a three-day deadline. “If the state government fails to take up appropriate action against the police personnel within the next three days, we will resort to various forms of agitations,” chairman of the JAC Hemchand Singh announced Saturday.
Talking to reporters, Hemchand condemned the attitude of state government while alleging that even as 11 days had passed since the death of the student, no appropriate action has been initiated till date from the government side. The police personnel involved in the incident that led to the death of the student should be suspended or dismissed from their services within the set three-day deadline.
