Is Man a Picture Hung on the Wall?
K. Padmakumar *
Is man a picture hung on the wall?
One can reach another by telephone
Without seeing each other if the line is not dead.
The real tragedy of life is
Not of not seeing each other
But of a breakdown in communication.
(Translated by K Radhakumar from his father's Manipuri poem Mibu Phaklangda Thetpa Laira)
