Indo-Myanmar initiative to check movement of militants

India and Myanmar have decided to increase cooperation between the armed forces of both the countries to check the movement of militants through the international border. Meanwhile, the Government of India has initiated steps for improvement of road communication to the international border areas.
Highly placed sources in the Government of India told The Assam Tribune that following improvement of relation between India and Myanmar, the armed forces of both the countries have decided to increase coordination and a meeting was held between the senior army officers of both the countries last month to chalk out the details. Army personnel of both the countries will now go for coordinated patrolling on both sides of the international border to check the movement of militants taking shelter in Myanmar
