Indian democracy needs time for good administration

The 17th Lok Sabha election is approaching and political forecasters are rating their statistics in favour or against a national party. In the India Today conclave organized recently, the odds are against the incumbent opposition party. Seemingly there is a growing postulate that 2014 election result is likely to repeat itself.
Nevertheless, the humility of Rahul Gandhi as an evolving leader can’t be underrated. His vision for a reimagining India is substantially genuine which is evident from his interaction tour all over the country and overseas. The series of events in Kashmir in the past four years and the latest event termed as the x-factor by experts is the Pulwama attack and the air strikes in Balakot.
Different views and support will take its own course, relatively to their ability to relate with the parties of their choice. The race for power should not be mistaken for seat racing but as a platform for reinvigorating the institutional mechanism and its functional responsibilities.
The biggest threat to democracy is not on any political party but in the whims and fancies of few. The materialization of ideas could result in the progress or decadence in a developing country. This is in terms of the foreign policy, and internal issues ranging from social, secular, security and economy.
A healthy democracy is what a conscious & responsible citizen awaits. It is logical to say that a consistent change in the government will bring progress; accelerating the competitiveness of national parties; a change in ideas and policy formulation every Lok Sabha elections, where the priority of the public will be at the top.
Constant seat in power often tends to demoralize the system, the fact of the matter can closely be related from past observations and even from local level examples. A right minded person is guided by his inner instinct and his parameters for voting the candidate based on individual choice or on party is blameless.
There is no doubt that personality is a convincing factor: broad visions, capacity to elaborate issues, ability to lay out comprehensive multipronged strategies and parties criminal records are few of the many parameters to look into.
A smart policy how good they may sound does not necessarily resolved issues. They are actually a harbinger of change and imbibe a feeling: a feeling of being awake from conventional system. In fact it creates a bridge for stepping into a new level. Policies designed and delegated into a framework are channelized to all over the country.
The extent of implementation and monitoring is often a grave concern. Here lies the ethical value of administrations and work delivery. In an interaction event in Manipur, the Congress President, Mr. Rahul Gandhi, replied to a question on corruption thus— “we need an honest people like you [young ones] to come to the political system” to clean the system.
Job crisis are looming large in the country, minimization of jobs in the country coupled with the battle for reservation is a huge scourge of family conflict in every household. In rural areas, public sector jobs are considered as the sinecure for livelihood. Its nature of job security and prestige is undisputable though one finds a furlong queue for submission of job application on a hot sunny day. In mega cities, this rural perception of public sector jobs could be dated back a couple of decades.
On walking along the slums and the gheetos, there is much to sense: a sense of where our governance lies? A broad view of Kashmir made us see radicalization. This view of radicalization can be called a consequence. Arguably, causes and consequence have much to contradict between themselves like which of the egg and the hen comes first. In the north-east, insurgency is expanding like the universe.
Talks and dialogues are underway, but can the government settle a score without a zero collateral damage? Regarding healthcare, the top priority that makes sense is to settle the air pollution. Gurugram, a suburb in the capital city New Delhi is ranked the worst spot in air quality index. It is logical to a health-cognizant that New Delhi is no longer their destination. The seat of top institutions is lying there and it is a sad thing that no politician ever spoke about it.
The loans for farmers are unproductive for reasons like unfulfilled irrigation channels, monsoons and processing units. These unnecessarily creates NPA’s. In times of drought the thought on cloud seeding for agriculture purpose could be further experimented through a special research and development team.
A blatant announcement of plans and policies without the feasibility in the long run is a waste of the exchequer. Obsessions of Gao rakshaks or cow vigilante across the states could have better publicity if done in good intentions. Proper deliberations about its contribution in Indian agriculture could have made sense, rather, the gao fanaticism embedded in its crusade pours out terror. The negative perception overweight, thereby, creating a chance of being interpreted as a barrier of beef trade—a livelihood.
The concept of peace is the key to unlock the dashboard of solutions. Peace starts in the conscious mind, followed by the discourse on meaningful deliberations. These deliberations are the key to convert the problems into a gradual but effective solution. The representatives of the people should make a promise as a debt they owe. A genuine leader is one who incorporates every class and put them on board towards progress and development. None should be left behind.
