Globsyn Business School, Kolkata, launches India’s first complete Online Admission System — the GBS Direct
Globsyn Business School (GBS), one of India’s leading Corporate B-Schools based in Kolkata, has launched India’s first complete online admission system —the GBS Direct, aimed at making a student’s first interactions with GBS completely free of long queues and tedious commutes. With the GBS Direct platform in place, students in Assam and in the north eastern states of India, or wherever they may be, can hope to be informed, assessed and selected for a management course from the comfort of their homes.
To be eligible for admission, an applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (10+2+3). GBS accepts students with CAT or MAT scores. In addition, students wanting to opt for GBS are required to appear for GAT (Globsyn Admission Test) examination and also an interview, through GBS Direct.
For online admission, students have to log on to bit.ly/gbsdirect, (http://www.globsyn.edu.in/gbsdirect/) after which they have to fill out a simple form. This is followed by an online Aptitude Test and a Thematic Apperception Test (TAT). Students are thereafter required to choose a topic and submit an essay that evaluates their linguistic ability. The final step in the process is a personal interview with the GBS faculty conducted through Skype.
Those considered suitable for admission are informed through a call and the first installment of fees can be paid online. With an online system in place, a student is assured of a credible, secure and completely transparent process that takes care of all the logistical hassles normally associated with admission in a B-School. “With entire global community going online, GBS with its core competence in research, corporate interface and IT has leveraged on e-technologies to connect with students to make its admissions process more efficient and transparent,” says Dr. Subir Sen, Dean, Globsyn Business School.
The GBS Direct window for applications is already open, and students who do get an opportunity to study for a Management degree at GBS can look forward to placements in well-known Indian and multinational companies. Placements in 2014-15 have been very encouraging, with a total of 141 offers made on campus by top recruiters like Glaxosmithkline, PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Vodafone, HCL, Tata Teleservices and Berger Paints, with the highest domestic package of Rs 7.5 lakhs p.a. being offered by Practo Technologies.
GBS Direct is a product of Kolkata-based Globsyn’s continuous emphasis on the interplay of Innovation, Technology and Research which is evident in the fashioning of the GBS curriculum too.
