It is this reality, coupled with the break down of the Doha Round of WTO talks and the increasing importance of regional trading blocs in world trade [5] , which has made India to seriously expand and indulge in exploring its potential for trade links with East and South-East Asia; despite the globalisation processes, it is multilateral globalisation but globalisation within regional blocs that is emerging as much more significant. Besides, while the emerging East Asian Community under the leadership of Japan has the potential to rival the European Union (EU) and the North American Free Trade Association (NAFTA) in both scale and significance, India cannot afford to let this opportunity to expand trade and economic potentials unexplored. Still further, besides these compelling economic reasons, India can no longer continue with its dilly-dallying and security perspective approach (as it involves her distrusted North Eastern Region [6] ) when it comes to dialogues for trade relationships has been made very clear by Malaysia [7] to India in July of this year. So given these global scenarios and emerging economic compulsions, India has necessarily and hectically look for trading opportunities with East and South East Asia [8] .
