Hand woven textiles have always been a rich source of one’s tradition. As per the census report of 2009-10, there are 23.77 lakh looms across the country out of which 14.11 lakh are in NER. Similarly out of 43.32 lakh persons engaged in weaving and allied activities, 21.56 lakh are in NER and out of 38.47 lakh adult weaver and allied workers, 9.44 lakh are in NER.
Apart from the propagating of our handloom products to the national & international markets, she also has been working very hard for the women empowerment. She has visited every nook and corner of NER for the development of handlooms section, so that this region one day should become the centre of world’s handloom(s) products.
Finally, I would like to quote her words that is '' Don't see other doing better than you. Work hard and sincerely to broke your own records every day. Because success is a fight between you and yourself only''
