I the Fig Wasp
K. Padmakumar *
The fig wasp cocooned inside the fruit, it's me!
And when this nobody gets
A small role
In the great play of the world
I am playing a part;
I move and have my being in this world
With all the paraphernalia of a dream.
And I am puffed up with pride
Acting as though I am the one who matters most and I am
Ashamed of myself for judging the book by its cover
(Translated from my late father's Tumitkumba Eina by K. Radhakumar)
