I Accept this Precious Life
K. Padmakumar *
I accept this precious life and this is an act of humility.
To be born a human being in this world,
And this life, small as dewdrop
Merging into the ever-continuing, vast flow of humans –
Is there anything better than this?
Birth is a harsh reality, death is a harsh reality
Bursting into tears and into laughter is natural to man
Joys and sorrows are two sides of the same coin.
The young wish they were older,
The elderly wish they were younger
It is nothing but taking the great magic of life as reality.
Life is not like moving pieces on a dice board
In line with the different numbers on the sides of the cube
When the dice is thrown on certain festive occasions;
The real meaning of life is it moves
With the thing almost forgotten but which remains static.
