Sensitization of DST, (Govt. of India) Women
Scientist Scheme (WOS-A) for NE Region of India

Introduction: The main aim of this training is to bring together multidisciplinary research around the North Eastern zone of India in the areas of Life Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Physics, Chemistry and other frontier areas related with the Science & Technology and to disseminate information at the latest. Training will include lectures by eminent scientists and project proposal presentation by the women participants for further funding from DST, GOI, New Delhi.

Call for pre proposal (Concept note): Concept note are invited from post graduate and doctoral holder women while special emphasis will be given to women with break in career in the all areas of science disciplines.

Concept note will provide an opportunity and platform to women and deliberate their research activities with senior experts in the field. Selected proposals will be recommended for funding to the DST, Govt. of India.

Concept note should not be more than two pages including title, brief background, objective, milestones & budget should reach on or before 20th October 2007 at the office of the Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development, Takyelpat, Imphal, Manipur.

Registration: To register, women are requested to send their pre proposal (concept note) along with filled registration form by electronic version followed by printed copies well in advance.

Ordinary TA/DA will be paid by organizer for the participants as per the norms of Govt. of India. Registration is open for post graduate and doctoral degree holder women in any discipline of science but not working as regular basis in any organizations.

Accommodation: Participants will have to make their own arrangements of stay during the training programme.

Date of training programme: 5th- 6th November, 2007
