"A VERY SERIOUS SITUATION OF OUR MOTHERLAND AND AN INCURABLE DISEASE WHICH IS MORE DANGEROUS THAN AIDS."
No one remembers any one in their good times. But people begin remembering God and looking for their relatives and friends in their bad days. With the help of whom are we able to live happily today?
It is 13th August today, a pleasant day to memorize the patriots of our motherland, Manipur. But a question arises from this broken heart, "Do we still remember our freedom fighters, who have sacrificed their life for the sake of coming generation". We have totally elapsed!
Even if the most of the countries on this earth have forgotten their original culture, custom and tradition, Manipur hasn't. Our diverse tradition helps us to show our true identity in the world. With the help of our freedom fighters we Manipuri's are still able to protect our borders in both hilly and valley areas. We are able to protect our borders and live happily without any community bias as we are the descendents of such Godly freedom fighters who sacrificed their life happily for their upcoming children.
According to the team report of a public investigation under the guidance of Dr. Moirangthem Jiban Singh, District Nodal Officer for Environment, Koppal, 81% of the youngsters use the images of the film actors and actresses as the wallpaper of desktop background, screen saver of their computers and mobile phones, and in their bedroom, facebook and their hostel walls instead of the images of the freedom fighters. With permission, the team had an investigation in the houses, hostels and public areas door to door and face to face.
The investigation tried the youngsters to understand and memorize the freedom fighters and strengthen the feelings of patriotic. The investigation further reports that only 5% of the youngsters have the knowledge of freedom fighters and most of them were unable to name even five names of the freedom fighters. This is really a very serious matter of our motherland and is an incurable disease which is more dangerous than AIDS. In fact it won't be wrong to say that, this is the result of the error of school and college syllabus. The pictures and the stories of freedom fighters can be hardly seen in the text books.
It is on this particular day that our brave heroes fought for their motherland like a lion many years back. Killing numerous enemies and letting their blood flow like river and dwelling in the forest land and bushes.
Even today, many of the descendents of these brave fighters are dwelling separately in the different corners of the world. The story of the gallantry of us Manipuri's and our culture, custom and tradition are spread all over the world. As this fresh day approaches everyone pays their homage to our gone fighters with their offerings.
Manipuri Meitei Association, Bangalore paid homage to our valiant fighters representing the unity of all communities of Manipur on the left bank of Cauvery River, a reservoir called "Manchanabele".
"Oh! River no one can stop you flowing; you flow until you reach your destination; let my offerings be flowed along with you; let it touch the feet of our valiant heroes."
Memorizing the brave fighters of Manipur who used to brighten up our motherland Dr. Moirangthem Jiban pens down like this............
On your graveyard,
Lamenting,
Mother is soliciting you,
Come back my valiant son,
Com back my fearless daughter,
Call me once 'Mother'.
Mother's precious pearl,
Wakeup once.
Your lovely motherland,
Can't bid bye,
Lamenting for you,
Listen to it once.
After giving sacred verse,
After showing the path of peace,
Where are you going?
Come back
Related to this day, he further says that "Even though we have different features and structures, the air which is breathing, the water which is drinking and even our soul is only one. Let us live together in harmony."
"Put an end to War and pass on Humanity and Harmony."
