Forbidden Friendship
Poireinganba Bingombam *
Those were the days
When both roam in mutual attitudes,
Days and nights, together –
Always together, in spite of numerous bars!
Every minute, every second,
Both longs to be together with,
No matter what comes, no matter what happens,
We remain struck in our mutual friendship.
But, those days and moments have gone, I guess,
Even though, that joyous moments together,
Spark in my mind every second,
I do believe that realistic and firm friendship has gone!
Now, you'd fulfilled your destiny,
What others would called hereditary trait,
You're bold, firm and filled with pride,
Held your head high with ego.
But, thanks to you, my forbidden friend,
Because you'd taught me a harsh lesson,
Life changes; attitude changes –
I'll never believe in true friendship again.
