Mega Entertainment announces the first Couture Fashion Weekend of NE region
Guwahati, June 16th, 2014: The city is all set to welcome the first-ever Couture Fashion Weekend of the north eastern region. Organized by Mega Entertainment with TRESemmé, a brand of Hindustan Unilever Limited, as the title sponsor, the TRESemmé Couture Fashion Weekend 2014 will enthrall the audience as 30 topnotch models will sashay the ramp adorning collections designed by 9 brilliant designers from across the country and north east region. The two day fashion weekend, scheduled to happen on 21st and 22nd June, 2014 at Pragjyoti Cultural Complex, Machkhowa, is also supported by Crafts of North East- a society promoting the handicrafts and handloom of northeast, Vodafone and Ponds White Beauty, a Hindustan Unilever Limited.
The glamour quotient of the 2-day fashion evenings will be amplified with the participation of nationally acclaimed designers like Sumit Das Gupta from Mumbai, Robert Naorem from Banglore, Vikas Grover and Amritraj Bora from Delhi, Afsana’s by Sanjay Choudhury and Pushpanjali Dutta from Guwahati, Karan Thokchom and Goswami Gurumayum from Imphal and Khrielasier Liezietsu from Kohima

The collection to be presented at TRESemmé Couture Fashion Weekend will be an inspiration of fresh colours and unusual patterns, recycled, botanical motifs, ethnic and tribal art brought to life, fabulous fits and fabrics to die for. TRESemmé Couture Fashion Weekend collection will feature an eclectic style and harbors a distinctly creative attitude. There will be four shows in the two-day fashion extravaganza and the floor and backstage in-charge of TRESemmé Couture Fashion Weekend, Sweety Sharma and Y. Dipika Devi, are putting in all their efforts to make the show a splendid success.
The show will create a trend forecast forum for domestic and exports markets. TRESemmé Couture Fashion Weekend will be instrumental in promoting the regional fashion industry globally through its platform–to cater to the growing needs of the regional designers, making it the first ever couture event in the region. TRESemmé Couture Fashion Weekend’s mission is to hold more such industry developing initiatives. The show aims to endorse and encourage designers to grow and showcase their work regionally and nationally.

Talking about the goals of the event, Abhijit Singha said, “TRESemmé Couture Fashion Weekend will be a platform for dreams to take flight. Priyanka Choudhury, Show Director and Choreographer, TRESemmé Couture Fashion Weekend, said, “Through this event, we aim to support those artists of the region who are capable of excelling in the international arena, and must continue in its endeavor, thus creating awareness and also establishing the credibility of artistes of the region. Such cultural shows would be a “CURTAIN RAISER” to the whole world and this will trigger the curiosity of people around the world to explore more about the northeastern region, this will bring them to this region and will pave the path for fashion tourism in the region.
