Financial assistance to ailing AMWJU member, Kakchingtabam Bipin

Paomee Welfare Foundation awarded Rs 75,000/- (rupees seventy-five thousand only) as financial assistance to the ailing AMWJU member, Kakchingtabam Bipin Sharma of Impact TV, currently undergoing treatment for chronic liver disease, acute kidney
injury amongst other illnesses at the Shija Hospital & Research Institute since 31st August 2018.
A team of Trustees led by the Foundation’s Chairperson, Wangkhemcha Shamjai, handed over the financial assistance to Bipin at the General Male Ward of the hospital at 1145 hours on Sunday. Other Trustees and AMWJU Standing Committee member
present at the handing over were the Foundation’s vice-chairperson, Pradip Phanjoubam, senior trustee, N. Tombi Raj, Trustee and AMWJU secretary general, Sukam Nanda, trustee secretary, Sunzu Bachaspatimayum and AMWJU standing
committee member Nameirakpam, Bishorjit a.k.a. Taton.
Bipin’s financial assistance and the amount was duly recommended by the Foundation’s Medical Board, comprising representatives of RIMS, JNIMS and Shija Hospital, through consultation, via circulation. The Foundation had earlier, resolved
through its board of trustees’ meeting that it would provide medical assistance in the ‘life threatening illness category’ in two batches to be interspersed every six months in a year, starting from July 2018.
After Bipin’s worsening health condition and his compelling financial status was brought to the attention of PWF, an emergency meeting of the board of Trustee was quickly convened which discussed the option of aiding Bipin’s treatment as an out-of
turn emergency case. Subsequently, the matter was referred to the Medical Board. The maximum financial assistance of Rs 75,000/- (rupees seventy-five thousand only), previously decided by the Medical Board and the Trust, was immediately sanctioned for
Bipin.
Besides appealing to Shija Hospital authority to provide Bipin the best possible treatment for a speedy recovery as well as subsidy his treatment expenditure, PWF earnestly appeals for further financial assistance for Bipin’s treatment to all who can
help in ailing journalist.
33 years old, Kakchingtabam Bipin Sharma is a news video editor of Impact TV and is the sole bread earner of his family including two very young daughters.
