Few Lines Written above the Sky
Shongminthang Haokip *
High above the sky
Soar up without feathers
Sitting like a supernatural man
Over the vale of Kangleipak
Departing the scenic beauty of Loktak
Far over the hill of North East region
Piercing through the blanket of cloud
Troposphere beyond the fringe
Firmament the vestibule
The cloudy gale clouts
Shaking the plane shakes my body
Au revoir the then transportation
Obviously, the transmission of civilization.
Landing; hovering like an eagle
Down to the land of biosphere
Peeping through my aircraft pane
Leaning down my head
Like an alien
To earth; this day over the
Bridge Howrah
Crossing over the river Hooghly
To the city of ancient heritage
Fort of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose
Palace of queen the Victoria
Home of Mother Teresa the humanitarian
And my destination India.
