FC Khanglai Rope In I-League Players For Manipur League
Manipur State League debutants FC Khanglai have made three big-name signings ahead of the league season in Manipur, as they prepare to challenge for a honourable position in their first season itself.
The club from Sadar Hills have brought in Rangdajied United forward Joychandra Singh, former Shillong Lajong defender Subhas Singh and Lajong goalkeeper Basant Singh, in the quest of getting together a strong side for the season ahead.
Joychandra had played a prominent part in Rangdajied’s Shillong Premier League triumph last season, and had also featured in the club’s I-League campaign. Subhas, on the other hand, is contracted to IMG-Reliance, and alongside Basant Singh, has previously featured for Shillong Lajong on many occasions.
Khanglai team manager Limminthang Haokip said, “We are happy to secure the service of Joy, Basant and Subhas. They give the team the much needed experience and balance. They will be the guiding force for the youngsters, and their experience of playing in the top league will give the team a big edge over others.”
The three signings do not only strengthen the Sadar Hills side, but also sends out a clear message to the other teams in the league about the club’s intentions of finishing in a respectable position, and not just participating in it.
