FATHOM 16 : festival of North-East Community held in Pondicherry University
The Pondicherry University North East India Community (PUNEIC) holds bi-yearly a cultural festival called FATHOM. This year, the event was organised on Saturday at Convention cum Cultural Centre, R.V. Nagar, Kalapet. Malabika Deo, Finance Officer &HOD, Dept of Commerce, PU and Cpt. B. Suresh Babu, Marine Commando, Chennai graced the function as the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour.
PUNEIC is proud to present FATHOM in Pondicherry as it is one of its kind, with a large part of the population still oblivion of the rich North Eastern culture and traditions. This gave the community a stronger reason to hold this festival.

Each state performed several dances with signature dances like the Bamboo Dance from Mizoram, Bihu dance from Assam and Khamba Thoibi from Manipur. The special guests were felicitated with north-east ethnic shawls and taken aback by the cultural extravaganza.
Manipur was further represented by dances from the Tangkhul community and also, traditional ramp walk kept the show going with attires from Meitei and Kuki communities as well.
Halfway, the venue was filled with spectators at an overwhelming number. A large platform was given for each state to showcase their culture using documentaries and skits.
After the event, many of awed audiences expressed their excitement to visit the North-Eastern states and successfully brought communities closer.
