End North East’s isolation: Rijiju

Describing residents of the seven North Eastern (NE) states as “prisoners of their own frontiers,” Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju called for a two-pronged approach to end the “isolation” of the states.
“Internally, we urgently require the integration of our own country. Often a small law and order incident is made out to be a major racial incident,” he said, referring to recent reports of violence against students from NE. Rijiju was speaking on “Look East, Act East policy” at Pune’s Symbiosis University. “
