Early-flowering Orchids
- Deep from the Soul -
K. Radhakumar *
The bright blooms of the orchid!
The onset of spring!
What type what name
O what orchids in flower.
Am I supposed to know the name of the orchid?
Has everything got a name?
A thing without a name.
A being without a name.
I see bright blooms of the orchid
That's the whole point.
The tragedy is
I do not write about it –
I write about me
And I write trash.
I can write about me
Not about the flower before me
Not at all.
If it is not a rose in bloom
What is this trash I am watching?
The cosmos and I
A drop of water in an ocean
Plane crash morning news
Nature taking its course.
The exotic blooms of the orchid!
So near!
It is not everyday I bathe
In the depths of time
A moment of timelessness,
Self-contained,
Self-reliant.
The only reality is the present moment
Here
Now
Life begins here
Life ends here.
The here and the now
That's the only reality.
What lies beyond is the trash
And people talk trash.
The flower gets terrible appreciation
From the onlookers
And quickly dies a death
At the onset of spring.
