Drive to recruit NE constables for Delhi
The Telegraph | Pheroze L. Vincent | New Delhi, June 24:
Delhi police are planning a major recruitment drive for constables (executive) in the eight northeastern states.
Jhajjar in Haryana is home to a large number of six-foot thullas who patrol the capital and staff its police stations. Circulars have been sent to directors-general of police of the eight northeastern states, asking them to nominate a nodal officer each to liaise with Delhi police team "so that this special recruitment drive can be accomplished on top priority basis."
The circulars, signed by Delhi's joint commissioner of police (headquarters) Nuzhat Hassan, have also asked the eight directors-general of police to nominate 10 men and 10 women constables each from their own recruitment process, to be inducted into Delhi police.
