Distribution of Essential Commodities to Chairoipandongba Village Part-III, Kangpokpi
A team of Centre for Social Development (CSD) and Youth’s Forum for Protection of Human Rights (YFPHR) have reached out at Chairoipandongba Village Part-III of Kangpokpi District to distribute Essential Commodities like Rice, Salt, Dal, Sugar, Ngari, Potatoes, Onion to the villagers after getting the information that none of the Villager have received Rice and other essential commodities during the Lockdown due to the Crisis of Covid19 bedside various assurance given by the Government that 4 Kg of rice person person must be distributed to all the household in the state of Manipur.
It further could be learned that the Rice 5Kg per person which was assured by the Prime Minister of India was also not received till date.
It may be mentioned that Youth’s Forum for Protection of Human Rights (YFPHR) have made several communication to the Chief Minister of Manipur through the CM Covid19 Helpline number and also with a written communication to the Deputy Commissioner of Kangpokpi District (Annexure-I) on 18th of April, 2020 informing that the Villages of Charoipandongba Part- I, II, III and IV have not received a single rice since the lock down began on 23rd of March, 2020.
CSD and YFPHR sincerely appreciate the hospitality and generosity of the Villager by providing vegetables in return to the relief material saying that the “People in Valley are also facing hardship due to lack of vegetables therefore, we are presenting some vegetables for the Valley People”
The villagers urged the Government of Manipur to reach out all the remote villages of Manipur before the people dies out of Starvation but not Covid19.
