Open Discussion on Psycho-Social difficulties related to ethnic origin and our responsibility at New Delhi on 29th March 2014
During these times of immense Pressure, Sadness, Grievance, rallies, Protests, and Action pack outcry against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Sexual harassment or molestation and Eve-teasing etc.
The Neo-Life Foundation & Manipur Upliftment Centre, joint hand in hand and conducted an “Open Discussion on Psycho-Social Difficulties related to ethnic origin and our responsibility” a potential ways to bring MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING between local communities in national capital Delhi and people from the North East at Mirabhai Park, Vijay Nagar New Delhi 110009 on 29th March 2014 at 1600 hours.
Several Students union, Social Workers and Delhi police participated in the discussion and shared their opinion. Lack of awareness about the North East Culture, Tradition and Ethnic stand out to be the most important factor which needs to be bridged.
The discussions also focus on the RESPONSIBILITIES and PRECUATION MEASURES to be taken by people from the Northeast. The discussion also deep dived on certain expectations to be set between the people from the northeast and local communities in Delhi. The discussion also gave directions to create emotional integrity as we are people of the same country.
Suggestions to conduct awareness programs in schools/colleges/institutions/different localities, focusing on sensitive areas, cultural activities, sports meet etc. to have better bonding between people from the northeast and local communities in Delhi. The Open Discussion concluded at 1800 hours.
The Delhi police deeply appreciated the initiative taken by The Neo-Life Foundation & Manipur Upliftment Centre and assured full support and safety for the Northeast people.
In the meantime, Delhi Police invited the Organizations, active volunteers and the students to Mukherjee Nagar Police Station (North Delhi) for an Interactive Session which started at 1830 hours.
The interactive Session was conducted by Mr. N. Gyan Sambandan (DCP North West Delhi Police), Mr. Ram Swaroop Meena (SHO Mukerjee Nagar Police Station), Mr. Ram Avtar Yadav (SHO Model Town Police station) and several other Delhi police personal. The session focuses more on Women safety and the day to day challenges faced by the people from the Northeast people in national capital Delhi.
Apart from this, Anand Wangkhem, Secretary, The Neo-Life Foundation explains the current issues, cause of the conflict in national capital and aware leadership - political, social and intellectual has to work for this social reconstruction.
