Difficulties in expanding the cabinet

The delay in the formation of the Cabinet is worrisome. There might be genuine difficulties which are impeding the process but it is not good news for the state, and there are reasons for saying so.
If the rumours on the grapevine have any substance, a clique ridden party will find itself driven deeper into schisms as long as divisive forces are not attended to.
The wage earners have already felt the fall out. The inordinate delay in the release of monthly pays was like playing on the panic button.
The last thing this cash strapped state needs is to have a disgruntled work force. In this state where the word 'corruption' is no longer a hush word, we don't have to cross the Ts and dot the Is to understand that it will be the common folk who will face the brunt of a cash burn out.
The Congress party, through its splendid performance in the polls has proved convincingly that it enjoys the support of the people, whether it be in the plains or in the hills.
It would not be too far off the mark to say it faces no meaningful opposition at least in the Assembly. Right now, its main weakness is in itself. Personality clashes have enfeebled it.
For us outsiders, we would want to know what the government has in mind to deal with the perennial problems of scarcity of potable water, pot holed streets, waste management and the unmentionable situation of the power crisis.
Does the government have any plans to generate employment? Does it have any laid out line of action for overall growth? Right now, all we see are peeved and bruised egos.
The party owes to the people a full and functioning government. Again, as outsiders we say, let the person who has the numbers decide the course of action.
To the rest we say stop being a spoil sport and get on with the real purpose of why you have been elected as MLAs, that is to govern the state. This state has problems right up to its neck and this is no time to dither.
To the party we say, you have the confidence of the people. It is quite unlikely that any other party will ever be represented by more than forty MLAs.
You have a full term ahead of you and this is a golden opportunity of turning Manipur from its stagnant state towards the road to prosperity. Please be aware that even in the subject of rural electrification Nagaland is way, way ahead of us.
We want the cloud of political uncertainty that shadows Manipur to be lifted. In the last few years we have witnessed the people come out non stop demanding decisive steps to let us know where we actually stand as against the divisive forces trying to tear apart the fabric of Manipur.
We are fatigued with bandhs, blockades and the loss of innocent lives. Please also remember the prevailing situation has induced a psyche of indifference and despair among the youth.
If the Norwegian government had any say, it would have taken away all the young people of Manipur.
