Cry Of A Dying River...99
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that pours her heart out ...
Flow Nambul flow
As much as you can
Flow Nambul flow
As free as you wish
Flow my small beauty flow
As long as you desire
Flow my soulful soul
Flow as if it is your last lap.
I am no longer the river I was once
The river whose inner voice keeps coming back
"Loktak lake that feeds millions
Lyrical Loktak that inspires a thousand poets
Attractive freshwater lake that attracts migratory birds
Lustrous lake that lures tourists
Lake serene that shelters Sangai
Lake epic that epitomizes the 'Khamba-Thoibi' epic
Lake mystique that tells tale of 'Haoba-Konu'
Lake luminous that shall be reduced into landfill ".
