Cry Of A Dying River...98
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
Not even the Tennyson 'Brook '
I may not 'go on forever '
Oh dear sister rivers and river dwellers
I foresee a scary scenario in Sanaleibak
On planet earth as it will be when
Rivers has vanished from the valley
Water lakes ponds and streams privatised
War will be fought and lost for/on water
Man killed man for water.
I am no longer the river I was once
Nature has created me sublime
The ravishing river with sand banks
The playful river that played sandcastles
Nature has been kind and generous
Nature helps me to serve you to no end
I give you everything free for sustenance
Men oh men! Selfish and greedy
You have maimed nay cut the very hands that feed you
You Have Destroyed What You Cannot Create.
