Cry Of A Dying River...86
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that longs for this time of the year
When monsoon sets in amidst heat and dust
Of men's crazy craze for destruction and pollution
The river that feels fresh and refresh amidst rain drops
Drizzling drops of rain water that livens up
Amidst misty cloud and whispering wind
When the world of men move homeward
The river that flows with no fear of men
The river that flows like a RIVER.
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that can't wait to accord
A red carpet to the mystical monsoon
Of monsoon rain rainbow and romance
The river that loves this time of the year
The seasonal monsoon that brings back
Fondest memories of yore years
The mystique monsoon akin to adrenaline
The messianic monsoon delivering a fresh lease of life
Oh mnemonic monsoon! How could I not love you!!!
