Cry Of A Dying River...62
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that has been undone by urban polluters
P0lluters who polluters everything around
From 'Leirak-Khullak' to 'Sana-Sorok Lamjao' to 'Thongan'
To 'Keithel' to 'Maheikol' to 'Saanabung'
To 'Lamhang' to 'Loubuk' to 'Loishang'
To 'Eeram' to 'Khongban' to 'Paathabi'
To 'Paat' to 'Pukhri' to 'Turel'
Tell me Oh "SIDABA MAPU"! Is there anything else
That is not polluted???
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that weeps for the 'Mitam's on its banks
Two Iconic 'Mitams' of Chingthangkhomba Maharaj and Luching Purel It away
"I love the site where I have been unveiled
Now I want to be shifted and move somewhere
I can no longer bear the 'Nambul Odour and the garbage around me "
"I am overwhelmed to see my 'Mitam' at the birth place
And yet angry and appalled to see
The 'Island of plastic ' garbage at the middle of Nambul bed"
Words of vision from two iconic figures of the past.
